He began working with his father’s company, Excel Solar & Electric Inc. in 2001 and became foreman of his own crew in 2003, installing ground mounted systems in Kenwood, California. He went on to build many systems with Excel S
Shane Hunter is a Journeyman Electrician, schooled in Saskatchewan. He was raised in
Birch Hills, Saskatchewan.
He began working with his father’s company, Excel Solar & Electric Inc. in 2001 and became foreman of his own crew in 2003, installing ground mounted systems in Kenwood, California. He went on to build many systems with Excel Solar & Electric, resulting in several hundred kW of solar installations. These included roof mount systems for residential and vacation homes, ground mount systems in the hills of Sonoma County, wineries in the Napa Valley, generator back up systems, solar water pumping projects for winery irrigation, and wind turbine installation.
There he gained his knowledge and expertise in the solar field. He returned to Saskatchewan in 2006 to continue and complete his Journeyman Electrician Red Seal. He has worked in industrial, commercial, residential, agricultural and maintenance settings in the electrical trade.
Jennifer is a co-founder and owner of Meridian Solar & Electric. She was raised in Radville, SK and obtained her Bachelor of Education from the University of Regina in 2003. She taught in Birch Hills, SK for 8 years before moving back to Radville with her husband and family to start this company.
She works in Office Administration/HR

She works in Office Administration/HR for Meridian while working in the marketing and sales as well. She is also a substitute teacher.
Shane and Jennifer are married and have 4 children all active in sports and school activities in and around the community.
