Shane and his wife Jennifer moved to Southern Saskatchewan to Radville. Meridian Solar & Electric was open for operation in March of 2016. The focus of the company was solar and renewables, and offering electrical contracting services to the surrounding area. Meridian Solar & Electric Inc. has grown and changed in the past six years. The focus has become renewables and energy efficiency. 

Shane was chosen in 2020 to be the Regional Champion for Saskatchewan with Efficiency Canada. Efficiency Canada is the national voice for an energy efficient economy. They envision a future where Canada uses energy efficiency to its fullest potential. This means maximizing the benefits of energy efficiency resulting in a sustainable environment, a productive economy, and a just and equitable society. Shane meets with the Efficiency Canada Regional Champions monthly and makes connections with people throughout the country to encourage change. 

Shane also gained his Certified Energy Management certificate with the Association of Energy Engineers. CEMs optimize the energy performance of a facility, building or industrial plant.  The CEM® is a systems integrator for electrical, mechanical, process and building infrastructure, analyzing the optimum solutions to reduce energy consumption in a cost effective approach.
