Jennifer was raised in Southern Saskatchewan on a grain and cattle farm. She attended school in Radville, Saskatchewan.
She was accepted into the Faculty of Education at the University of Regina in 1997. She convocated in 2003 with a Bachelor of Arts Education with a major in English. She accepted a teaching position at Birch Hills School in Birch Hills, SK. There she worked with Middle Years and High School grades teaching Arts Education, and Language Arts for 9 years.
Her experience in the Arts, and working retail jobs throughout university helped her gain her experience and self-taught knowledge in marketing and sales.
Jennifer spent time at home raising her 4 children, and volunteering her time at the school grant writing and fundraising for a new playground, and for organizations in Prince Albert such as the Red Cross.
In 2016, Shane and Jennifer decided it was time to start their own company and ventured back to Jennifer’s hometown of Radville, Saskatchewan. They started Meridian Solar & Electric with a lot of electrical knowledge, but little business knowledge. Jennifer used skills from her university degree, her love of working with people, and her passion for the challenges of learning to get started. Innovation and perseverance helped her build the office side of the company and led her to begin in marketing and sales. Jennifer is self-taught in the office and runs much of the Human Resources department and administrative side of the company. She is in charge of training for employees and day-to-day operations.
Jennifer works full-time in the office at Meridian Solar & Electric and spends extra time volunteering in Radville at various organizations. She very much enjoys the journey that has led to her co-owned company in renewables and is excited to see the direction that the future will bring.
